About Us​

KosmodeHealth, a NUS Food Science & Tech spin-off, expands access to health from nature, sustaining health of people and health of the earth as a B2B enabler. Anchored on a Triple Technology Platform, KosmodeHealth enables repurposing of food processing waste into sustainable functional ingredients for human nutrition in the Agrifood industry and into functional materials for human health in the Biomedical industry. In summary, KosmodeHealth was incorporated with 1 mission, impacting 2 Industries, AGRIFOOD & BIOMEDICAL, with 3 TECHNOLOGIES

Our Beliefs

    • That quality ingredients/materials from nature can be made affordable to the masses by using spent grains that would otherwise be dumped into landfills, instead of whole grains & beans.
    • That grown crops should not be used once, then dumped, the current practice. That Spent Grains or Food Processing Wastes, left behind after the first round of food production, should be given a second life; by extracting nutrients such as Proteins & Fibre as a sustainable & economical source of functional ingredients for human nutrition in the AGRIFOOD INDUSTRIES and functional materials for human health in BIOMEDICAL INDUSTRIES.

Our Founders

Florence Leong is an ex-pharmaceutical executive turned startup enthusiast. Building on her decades of organizational and market development experience in top pharmaceutical multinationals, venture capital investment and management practice, she contributes to the Singapore startup ecosystem as an Advisor, Mentor, Instructor, Founder & Angel Investor. Florence is currently an Industry Advisor in the Singapore Biodesign Program, a mentor in NUS Enterprise and Medtech Track Instructor in the LeanLaunchPad Program.

Dr Huang Dejian, Associate Professor and Deputy Head of Dept of Food Science Technology in the National University of Singapore, is a Chemist and Food Scientist. His research work received global recognition when he was cited by Thomson Reuters as one of the most cited Agri-scientists for two consecutive years in 2014 & 2015. He is also an Associate Editor in the Journal of Food and a recipient of the Suzhou Industrial Park Talent Program.
